About Anne

I am an artist and a Master certified coach (accredited ICF, Integral Coaching Canada, Integrative Enneagram). I began my professional career as a health planner, eventually moving to consulting in organizational and community development. I trained as a coach to help people in organizations live into the changes they were making on paper in their plans. I took up art again the week of 9/11/01. Poetry and art give me a way to see through the mundane.

Hope has become a focus recently as I witness myself and others, in these times, building and finding hope, and then losing it again and again. And I believe that art gives us a doorway into seeing beyond the surface, a key element of stoking hope. Since I began painting again in 2001, moving through various media: watercolour, acrylic, encaustic with wax and oil, cold wax and oil, art has first been about giving form to what was budding in me. Themes arising in my art lead me more deeply toward what matters.

In 2014, I began calling myself an artist – that was a big leap. And, I began selling my art, first through invitational studio opening days, then through local art association sales, storefront galleries and on-line galleries. I’ve been fortunate to have done a few wonderful art residencies, one fully funded. And, I am familiar with the tension between painting for the marketplace and painting from that inner voice. In addition to art, I now offer live coaching, and customized workshops to artists, coaches and leaders, as well as guided practice series. All of these are designed to help you bring out your voice and your true gifts more fully.

I divide my time between Ottawa Canada and Amman Jordan. Ottawa is the home of many loved ones and where I've spent much of my adult life. Amman is where The One I've always loved is based. We are finally, astonishingly, ready for each other, after 40 years apart. In addition to painting, poetry, and coaching, I am renewed by philosophy, being a grannie, close friendships, cycling, x-country skiing, and hosting AirBNB guests from across the oceans.

Seeds of Artistic Voice

Your artistic journey has a thread—a constant presence weaving through your evolving work. In this session, you'll engage in a guided visualization to reconnect with your earliest creative impulses and explore the somatic (physical) nature of your art-making. Through reflective exercises and an ongoing facebook group discussion, you'll begin identifying the shapes, themes, and emotions that define your artistic identity. You’ll gain a fresh perspective on your body of work and leave this session with an assignment to explore it further in our private Facebook group, supported by Anne and fellow students.

Deepening Into Your Voice

Building on your discoveries, this session focuses on integrating your artistic thread into both your creative practice and professional path. You'll use embodied awareness exercises to examine your work on a deeper level, and refine your artistic direction. The session also covers essential strategies for marketing your work authentically—developing a strong artist statement, crafting a compelling portfolio, and finding the right audience for your art. You’ll be set up to create your own artistic manifesto, a powerful commitment to your creative path.
