With a passion ignited many years ago by the allure of encaustic painting, I've journeyed through the realms of art without formal training. From dabbling in watercolour to embracing the unpredictability of encaustic, my artistic evolution led me to explore this unusual technique.
I've cultivated a distinctive approach, revelling in the interplay of texture and depth. My tools range from blow torches to custom-made implements, each contributing to the unique effects in my work. I have learned my techniques through practice and play over many years of experimentation.
My creative process involves layering medium on untreated birch panels, often drawing inspiration from photographs. Fusing layers with various heat tools, I sculpt scenes capturing the essence of the landscape.
As my artistic journey unfolded, I've been featured in books, TV programmes, and my work is exhibited in private collections globally. Through teaching encaustic art courses, I find joy in sharing my passion and offering insights to those who wish to learn. The messy, exciting world of encaustic painting continues to captivate me, and my artwork is exhibited in a locally gallery, Artworks 2 Celf, which provides a platform to showcase my work alongside other talented artists.
